Elias Horry estate book, 1837-1864.

Volume contains records of the Elias Horry estate including slave lists, rice quantities, livestock lists, timber sawn, goods received, cloth and blankets distributed to slaves, and the births and deaths of slaves. Records of quantities of rice shipped to Charleston (S.C.) at various dates include the names of sloops on which rice was shipped as well as the amount of rice delivered to the mill in 1837 and to the mill at Milldam from Newland, Midland, and Milldam in 1838. Volume also includes lists of livestock (1838 and 1839); timber sawn by the mill at Wamba [Wambaw] (S.C.); and goods received from Charleston (rum, tallow, tobacco, sugar, corn, oil, bacon, rope, oats, files, and other goods). "A List of Negroes Belonging to the Est. of E. Horry" includes the names of slaves at Milldam and Newland plantations (Georgetown County, S.C.). The volume lists the number of yards of "Negro cloth," number of blankets, and other goods given to slaves. Births and deaths of slaves at a farm in Greenville (S.C.) and the sale of various slaves are noted in 1864. The volume also contains a "List of slaves owned by William B.S. Horry, Julia H. Trapier, Edward S. Horry, and Paul T. Horry" (1863) from the estate of Elias Horry.
